Introducing our first Homeschool Essentials kit 🦋

Hi Reader!

I’ve been working on something for a while, and I’m so excited to finally share it with you.

Meet the Growth & Gratitude Learning Kit, the very first printable kit from Homeschool Essentials.

November naturally turns our hearts toward thankfulness. But I’ve noticed that many gratitude activities ask kids to list what they’re thankful for and move on. And growth mindset resources often boil down to “don't give up.”

Real growth doesn’t work that way, and neither does real gratitude.

So I created a kit that helps your children:

  • Notice their own progress, even the small steps
  • Find a next step when something feels hard, instead of just pushing through
  • See the people and care behind everyday life
  • Express thanks in specific, meaningful ways
  • Hold hard feelings and thankful thoughts together, without forcing a silver lining

Inside the 25-page kit:

  • A parent teaching guide with simple 10-minute lessons
  • 6 neuroscience cards and 6 Scripture cards
  • 12 conversation cards for the table, car, or morning time
  • Reflection pages, gratitude letters, and a gratitude scavenger hunt
  • 7 display posters

Every activity can be written, drawn, dictated, or talked through. That makes it work for younger kids, teens, and learners who need a different way in.

For the month of November, the kit is just $9.95 (regularly $12.95).

And this is only the beginning. It’s the first of a growing collection of kits on the essential skills our kids need for life and learning. I can’t wait to show you what’s next.

With gratitude,

P.S. Try the Gratitude Scavenger Hunt first. It’s a great way to slow down and notice the good together this week.

Hi Reader! November brings plenty of reminders to be thankful. But when your child is worn out from a hard lesson or disappointed about something that matters to them, a gratitude question can feel like one more thing they're supposed to get right. In our family, learning challenges have given us many opportunities to make room for frustration. I've needed that room myself. Gratitude feels more honest when we can acknowledge what was hard. You might try this at a calm moment: 'Today was...

Hi Reader! It's easy to finish a homeschool day thinking about everything that didn't get done. The math lesson that took longer than expected. The writing assignment you're still working through. The plans you had to change. After more than 15 years of raising and teaching two kids with ADHD, dyslexia, processing differences, and more, I've had plenty of those days. I've also learned how much progress can happen that we don't easily notice. A child asks for help a little sooner. Tries again...

Hi Reader! When your child says, 'I can't do this,' you can feel pulled in several directions. You want to encourage them, understand what's going on, and somehow keep the day moving. Raising and teaching two kids with ADHD, dyslexia, processing differences, and more has taught me to pay attention to the support a task requires. At a calmer moment, try asking: 'Which part feels tricky right now?' Give them some time. Their answer might help you see whether they need an example, help getting...
